I started working with families over 17 years ago as a nanny when I noticed my friends were in need of quality care for their children and it did not take long to realize that it is my passion to care for children and help families. From 2005 – 2007 I took a break from my nanny work and worked as an Infant/Toddler Teachers Assistant while completing my degree in Early Childhood Education, ultimately during this time I earned my Infant/Toddler and Lead Preschool Teacher Certificates. In late 2007 it became obvious to me that my true passion is working directly in the home helping families, so I decided to take my degree and use it working with children as a Professional Nanny, offering learning experiences through everyday activities rather than in the classroom.
In 2013, as I continued my passion of working with children and families, I began specializing in caring for newborns as a Newborn Nanny and Night Nanny. I loved it so much that I invested in my future by becoming trained as a Newborn Care Specialist (formally known as a Baby Nurse/Night Nurse), and Sleep Coach/Sleep Trainer and have never looked back. In 2016 I took my training to the next level, by completing an intensive Advanced Newborn Care Training and a Lactation Education class so I may better help new mothers navigate the challenges that breast feeding may bring and in 2018 I received my Advanced Certification through the Newborn Care Specialist Association. I enjoy acting as a partner with parents, whether it’s troubleshooting breastfeeding & feeding issues or being available for day or overnight care to allow mom to rest or 24/7 care. I can also help your older baby learn to sleep through the night. I love helping new families overcome the challenges that a new child brings and through our collaborative efforts, I can help you enjoy this time and set up best practices that will result in a smooth transition for you, your family, and your newborn.
Having a child can be one of the most rewarding and intimidating events in anyone’s life, filled with sleepless nights and worry. As a Newborn Care Specialist (formally called a Baby Nurse/Night Nurse or Night Nanny) I act as a guide and mentor for parents while providing expert care of the baby so that you don’t have to worry! I will provide you with encouragement, and guidance, while helping you and your baby get a good night sleep so that when our time together comes to an end you will have all the skills needed to successfully care for your baby/babies, and your baby/babies will be sleeping through the night.
